Lovers

They were laying down on the beach. The sand was still warm and they were alone. It seemed that the whole beach belonged to them. The waves were moving very lazy, like you move in the eraly morning. Trying to wake up. The water had the color of an intense blue. In the air some seagulls flying in circles. They were laying very close to each other, holding hands, so close that they could hear each other's heartbeat, feel the chest moving while breathing, feel the tanned skin. They were afraid to speak, even to breath....they were just looking deep inside in each other's eyes, almost getting lost inside them....inside themselves. She was afraid....afraid of getting out of this magic. He was afraid too...afraid to watch somewhere else, far away in the distance. He started to hold her hand very tight, not to lose her, not letting her go and be taken by the waves or up in the air by the seagulls. She was watching him and she was smiling, trying to catch this moment in her smile, to keep it forever inside her.  The morning wind was touching softly their faces, playing with their hair. He started to touch her face, her eyes, her ears, her lips. Like the blind people trying to discover the face and the features of the person in front.  He was trying to outline her....so that she can always be in his mind. Then he kissed her.  Her lips had the salty taste of the sea water. The best taste he ever had. Her brown skin had the fragrance of water and sun. She was trying to keep the kiss on her lips....like forever. Above them the orange sunrise, starting the day, blessing the two lovers on the beach....making this seconds feel like....forever....

He woke up in the middle of the night, breathing very quickly and sweating. He turned around and realized that he was alone in his bed, in his room....His hand was hurting, his hand was feeling numb...like he had hold something very tight the whole night.....

Somewhere far,  she also woke up in the middle of the night, crying....She turned around and she was alone too...Her bed was empty...her room lost in darkness....She started to bite  nervously her lips....there was this beautiful salty taste.....

He woke up and he was alone. Somewhere far away she also woke up and she was alone too....What remained....the lost memory of the sanded beach and the sunrise, of a hand holding tight to the other one...of lips having the taste of the past...
